Interview with Thierry Macquet: Entrepreneur, Journalist, Author, and Philanthropist
Thierry Macquet: The Multi-Talented Entrepreneur, Journalist, Author, and Philanthropist
Thierry Macquet is a man of many talents and passions. Born and raised on the beautiful island of Mauritius, Thierry has made a name for himself as an entrepreneur, journalist, author, and philanthropist. With a diverse background of Franco British descent, Thierry has been a full-time Londoner since 2001, but his love for travel has taken him around the world, with second homes in Mauritius and the Balearic islands.
One of Thierry’s ventures is TM Portfolio, a boutique business development and PR agency with offices in London and Toulouse. He also owns Experiential Pursuits, a lifestyle management company, and serves as a non-executive director on the boards of several local and international companies. In addition to his business endeavors, Thierry is a freelance journalist, author, and philanthropist, with a passion for history, wine, champagne, and travel.
When it comes to his personal interests, Thierry is a huge fan of vintage cars, particularly his dad’s 1933 MG J2, which he enjoys driving along the coastal roads of Mauritius. He also co-owns a bespoke lifestyle travel company, Experiential Pursuits, which allows him to indulge in his love for travel. Greece, India, and Sri Lanka are among his favorite holiday destinations.
Thierry’s love for music is evident in his choice of gadget – his Apple iPod, which he always carries with him, especially when traveling. He finds classical music to be inspiring, particularly when he is writing or working.
In terms of fashion, Thierry favors brands like Canali and Ermenegildo Zegna, but he also enjoys bespoke clothing from London, India, and Paris. When it comes to airlines, Thierry’s preferences vary, with Emirates, Qatar, and Singapore Airlines standing out for their excellent service.
One of Thierry’s favorite possessions is his Patek Philippe watch, which he considers more of an heirloom than just a timepiece. And when it comes to dining out, he has a soft spot for London restaurants Scotts and Le Colbert, where he enjoys the food and ambiance.
Despite his busy schedule, Thierry finds time to give back to the community through his involvement with charities and foundations like The Royal Albert Hall and The Indian Ocean Islands Foundation. He also values spending time with friends in need of support as a meaningful way to give back.
Thierry’s latest project is the release of his new novel, ‘Message from an Adventurous Ancestor’, which tells the tale of two men from different eras connected through bloodline and the enduring nature of humanity across centuries. The book is set to be released on December 1st, 2020, promising to inspire and captivate readers with its intriguing storyline.
