Financial freedom: A myth for most Americans

The Elusive Goal of Financial Freedom: Are You Achieving It?

“Survey Reveals Most Americans Struggling to Achieve Financial Freedom”

A recent survey conducted by Achieve has shed light on the financial struggles faced by many Americans, with only 1 in 10 respondents claiming to be living financially free. The definition of financial freedom varies among individuals, with just 12% equating it to being rich.

According to Brad Stroh, co-founder and co-CEO of Achieve, the current economic pressures have shifted the focus from becoming wealthy to simply being able to pay bills on time. The top priority for most respondents is being debt-free, with other common definitions of financial freedom including living comfortably, never having to worry about money, and having enough savings to give up working.

Interestingly, baby boomers are the generation most likely to be living their version of financial freedom, while Gen X, millennials, and Gen Z are still striving to achieve it. However, nearly half of the participants admitted to not being close to reaching their financial goals, with many lacking basic savings and retirement accounts.

Despite these challenges, there is a sense of optimism among respondents, with more people believing that their journey to financial freedom is improving rather than worsening. As the quest for financial stability continues, it is clear that many Americans are still working towards their ultimate goal of being financially free.
